Energy is contagious
Positive energy, negative energy, high energy, low energy; all energy is contagious. Just think about it. Has there ever been a time where you felt great about life, only to then be brought down by someone who was completely and utterly miserable? And on the contrary, have you ever been in such a bad mood filled with anger and frustration, only to have that mood uplifted by someone who is jovial and positive? All energy is sticky.
Negative energy is like the flu, strep throat, or a cold. And whenever we have one of those terrible diseases, we treat it appropriately to minimize contagiousness. However, when we are filled with negative energy, we spew it out for everyone to catch and don’t think twice about it. Positive energy is like having extra money or food. When we have an excess of something, we tend to give them to those in need. When we are filled with positive energy, we radiate our happiness and ignite those around us.
One of the hardest things to remain conscious of is the energy we put out into the world. The energy we put out into the world is going to set the tone for every day of our lives; the energy we put out is the energy we receive. You put out negative energy and are rude to those around you? Be ready to receive plenty of negative energy in return. You put out positive energy and are generous to those around you? Be ready to receive kindness and love in return.
No one is perfect. Everyone has their moments of both positive and negative energy. The key is to heighten your awareness in those moments. When you are aware of what your thoughts, actions, and attitudes are, you enable yourself to strive for positive energy, and shift away from negative energy.
